I love the idea of a Bird of Paradise. A signal from Mother Nature that beauty bursts forth from random places. Whenever I see one, I think of tropical getaways. The Bahamas, Bali, Fiji, Hawaii! Hold on, let me pack my bags!
This is a hand painted piece ... I create this by painting directly onto a silkscreen and transferring the image to the paper beneath using a squeegee. What I love about it are the imperfections and unexpected marks that occur by using this process, called a mono print (just one!) I work out of a collective studio in East London called Print Club London.
What's a SPRING FLING? So many things - the mashup of the unexpected, random conversations with strangers on public transport, fresh blooms, inspiration that comes from looking up or looking down, a fresh perspective. Laughing at yourself and lazy afternoons. Marveling at the joy of what we once took for granted. Bliss.
I do my best to capture the true colors of this original, but please note that colors may appear differently on your screen.
Due to the nature of the painting and then the screen printing process, there may be slight imperfections that are part of the charm of an original, hand made monoprint.
40 cm x 50 cm (approx 16" x 20") paper with the image taking up 32 cm x 41 cm (approx 13" x 16"). One off original monoprint on high quality, archival 300 GSM cotton paper.
Signed in pencil at the bottom right corner as well as on the back.
Fits perfectly in a standard 40 cm x 50 cm frame. I like the "Ribba" by Ikea - it's easy to install and to hang quickly.
